Ross Chastain apparently bumped into A.J. Allmendinger twice during todays’ race and ends up trading the lead with Allmendinger and went on to win his first Cup Series victory. A.J. Allmendinger went on to finish 33rd after todays’ mishap.

Denny Hamlin took to his Twitter to comment on that incident which shows that he was kind of disappointed with how NASCAR has changed over time.

“Everyone runs over everyone. Doesn’t matter if it’s for 1st or 10th,” Denny Hamlin

Denny Hamlin seemed pretty unhappy with the way Ross Chastain ended up taking the lead and winning the Echopark Automotive Texas Grand Prix at COTA today. He tweeted saying that whatever happened out there today was not acceptable back in 2017, but today it’s all about qualifying for the playoffs, or doing whatever it takes to win and it’s still fair.

“In 2017 it wasn’t ok. In todays’ world. “High stakes” “do whatever it takes” “playoffs on the line” blah blah, it’s all fair game,” tweeted Denny Hamlin.

He also added that the game has changed and that it’s just expected now. If drivers end up running over or pushing others off the track, it’s not much of an issue these days even if that is for a win or for P10. He ended his tweet on a congratulatory note for Ross Chastain and his teams’ owner, Justin Marks.

“The game has changed and it’s just expected now. Everyone runs over everyone. Doesn’t matter if it’s for 1st or 10th Congrats to @Justin Marks & Ross,” tweeted Denny Hamlin.

Will this continue to be the new way of racing or will we see harmony amongst the drivers?
