The NASCAR Cup Series race at Iowa this Sunday marked the first ever premier division race in the history of the Speedway and it was an impressive event. Defending Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney won the race while the fastest drivers of the day Kyle Larson had a nightmarish finish after getting wrecked on the start of stage there.

Kyle Larson was wrecked out by Daniel Suarez, after his No:1 Trackhouse Racing Chevy got lose. While talking about the incident JGR veteran Denny Hamlin pointed out that Suarez isn’t only to blame for the incident and asserted that the Hendric Motorsports driver had some blame to take for the incident as well.

That’s probably the only thing that Kyle is second guessing and you heard him say in his interview, ‘I probably could’ve been more patient and not put myself three-wide in the middle there.’ But he’s trying to get back to the front as quick as possible.

The JGR driver went onto point out that 90% of the times Larson would have gotten out of the three wide situation he put-himself in un-harmed with the fast car he had. But it wasn’t meant to happen on Sunday.

But certainly, you feel like with as fast as his car was and he was that day, did he have to go get two cars right in that corner? Probably not, but that’s hindsight. 90% of the time it works, and you go on, you’re unscathed and you just gained multiple spots on a restart.
Denny Hamlin added.

Denny Hamlin asserts Kyle Larson and team would be lamenting the situation they are in

The 23XI Racing co-owner while further talking about the point asserted that Kyle Larson didn’t take into account how the drivers around him would react when he made it a three wide fight. He added that the No:5 tea, would be bagging their heads on getting their race ruined because of the wreck.

Of course, you always have to take into account the people you’re around when you do decide to put yourself in a vulnerable spot. It’s just one of those things where certainly the five team’s banging their heads against the hauler door because they clearly had one of the best if not the best car and got a bad finish out of it.
Denny Hamlin said.

Larson lost the top-place in the points table after his P34 finish at Iowa to Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott. It would be interesting to who will win the regular season title with Elliott, Larson and Hamlin in the fight for the championship.
