The NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday at Pocono Raceway saw Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin becoming part pf history, by becoming the second driver in the 2026 season to secure a three-peat. He marked his third straight win, defeating points leader Tyler Reddick and JGR teammate Christopher Bell.

The win has given more momentum to the No:11 team and in the words of Hall of Famer dale Earnhardt Jr., the three times Daytona 500 champion is more confident right now that he has ever been in his two-decade long Cup career. When asked about it, the veteran racer responded by admitting he is in the peak for his career and executing perfectly every week is helping them dominate.

It’s certainly the best we’ve been. We come to the racetrack every week knowing that we’ve got a great shot to win. And the team’s just doing an amazing job giving me exactly what I need in the car every single week, so that’s why we’re winning.

Denny Hamlin told Amazon Prime post-race.

Earlier talking about the win, Denny Hamlin joked about how his King’s Hawaiian curse is finally over, as they have winless with one of his long-time sponsors. The minions themed race suit the veteran racer used on Sunday got the attention of many in the garage and the racer joked that the yellow uniform humbled him a bit.

I’ve got to say awesome for the King’s Hawaiian car. Finally, the King’s Hawaiian curse is over. They thought my head was getting a little big, so they made me wear this suit this week to put me back to where I need to be.

Denny Hamlin said earlier, as reported by On3.com.

Further talking about the point, he gave the credit where it’s due and highlighted how the whole Joe Gibbs Racing crew has been key factor to his success as their flawless execution is one of his main advantages. The veteran also addressed the fans that cheered for him, as Pocono, that track where he won his maiden Cup race, is like a second home for him.

I’m just so happy for this whole Joe Gibbs Racing team. This is a team effort. Giving me the fast cars, the pit crew is flawless right now. We’ve just got it all going…. Thank you. That really means a lot. Seriously. Thank you so much for that. This is like a second home for me (to the roaring crowd).

He’s a consummate professional. I think for many of us that go through a lot of tough times, being at the racetrack is our home. That’s where we find the most peace and want to be back at the track. That’s normal to him. I think he wanted to be back. He had records to break. He had something to prove. He’s doing it now.

Heather Gibbs said.

The comments from the TRD team co-owner is on point, as the veteran racer himself admitted that his primary focus in the final years of his racing career is winning as many events as possible. It would be interesting to see if 2026 going to the year Hamlin secures his maiden titles and end JGR’s six-year title draught.
