The NASCAR Cup garage is at Nashville Superspeedway this weekend for the 14th race of the 2025 season and Joe Gibbs Racing Denny Hamlin is one of the drivers that got a lot to prove. The veteran has already won two races this season and is hoping to end his recent four race streak of non-top 15’s with a redemption run at the track where he has been a headache for him.
Since 2021, when the track made it into the Cup Schedule, Denny Hamlin has started four races at Nashville. His best finish was the P3 in 2023 and has won a pole position in 2022 as well as in 2024. His most disappointing finish, though it’s not the worst=, came last season when a over-time drama caused him the win.
In the recent episode of the Actions Detrimental podcast, Denny Hamlin jokingly recalled the PTSD moment he had last year. It was his race to lose at the end when he took the lead from his fierce rival Ross Chastain with a strong run with just a handful of laps remaining between him raising the Nashville guitar trophy.
Okay… Well, we’re going to give it another go. Nashville, more PTSD. Nine overtime finishes, as we’re dominating that race. Ran down Ross, passed him with I don’t know, handful of laps to go.
Denny Hamlin said via Actions Detrimental podcast.
As he was cruising to the win, Austin Cindric spun out and despite him getting back to racing with no incident, NASCAR threw a caution. This caused a dramatic nine-over-time restarts, exhausting the No:11 Toyotas fuel forcing him to pit and give up on the win. This helped NASCAR biggest opportunist Logano to steal the victory, and the trace played a significant role in the Penbske drivers’ championship win.
Austin Cindric plays grabass with somebody down the backstretch. Spins, doesn’t touch anything, spins, does a 360, keeps going, they throw a caution, and nine overtimes later, I had to pit after the fifth overtime. Maybe sixth. G*****n f***ing cursed.

Denny Hamlin has to redeem himself, not just for himself but for his fans as well as the drivers that sees him as their idol. One of these drivers in non-other than Truck Series’ championship front runner Corey Heim of TRICON Garage.

Heim is not just Hamlin’s Toyota teammate, but also his driver as the youngster is a contractor to 23XI Racing, which the veteran co-owns. Recently talking about it, Heim asserted that he grew up iodizing the No:11 TRD driver and its pretty special for him to now have the legend as his biggest supporter.
A lot of people know that growing up, Denny was my idol. It means the world to have grown up idolizing him. Never knowing if I would make it to this level. But here I am and I’ve got him as one of my best supporters so far.
Corey Heim said.
The youngster is living his dream with his idol being his mentor and will be hoping to one day race alongside him as teammate at 23XI. Denny Hamlin has revealed that he might end his career with 23XI and if timing is right, it might come at a time when Heim makes it into the elite division as a full-time racer.
