The inaugural NASCAR Cup Series race at Iowa ended up being a nightmare for the 2021 champion Kyle Larson. He came into the race with high hopes following an impressive win at Sonoma Raceway the last week but the No:5 HMS Chevy driver was the last driver to cross the finish line in the Iowa Corn 350.
He was caught up in two incidents, one during stage two and another at the start of stage three that ruined his night. The first one featured Joe Gibbs Racing Denny Hamlin, who hit him during stage two while getting lapped by the HMS driver. The second incident soon after Larson stage win saw him wrecked by Daniel Suarez.

Kyle Larson was furious with his friend Hamlin for the stage two incident. So the No:11 Toyota Camry driver addressed the incident and explained what happened. He admitted that it was his mistake that led to the clash as he gassed too soon and ended up hitting the HMS Chevy from the back. Fortunately, it didn’t cause a major wreck.
Was my mistake, I gassed up too soon and ran into the back of him. Luckily, everybody held onto it.Denny Hamlin told Bob Pockrass.
