NASCAR star Denny Hamlin is one of the biggest names in the world of stock car racing. The JGR veteran has made his way to the Playoffs once again this season. However, rather than winning the championship, it seems that Hamlin has a different goal in his mind for the last 10 races.
The Toyota driver has won 58 races in the Cup Series so far in his career. This is a remarkable achievement, putting him in the league of all-time greats of the sport. However, Denny Hamlin is not satisfied yet. Rather, he remains hungry for more in the Playoffs.
The JGR driver was asked if he can win a handful of races in the business end of the Cup Series this year. Denny Hamlin insisted that this was indeed his plan. The JGR star hoped to bag a couple of wins in the first five races, if not more by the end of the Playoffs. Hamlin declared that his main goal for the Playoffs was to make it to his 60th Cup victory, rather than winning the championship.
Yes. Gateway, New Hampshire. Check, check, check, check, check. To me, that’s what it’s going to be about is, can you get a win or two here through the first five? Darlington, Gateway, Bristol, New Hampshire, Kansas. My goals remain the same. I’d like to win a couple more races before the end of the season. Whenever they are, if they advance me, if they advance me, I’d like to win a couple more races. That’s the goal. Let’s get to 60 this year.

JGR chief exposes ‘chink’ in Denny Hamlin’s armor
Denny Hamlin can be unstoppable. The former Cup Series champion has earned a reputation of dominating on his good days. This has led to a massive fanbase rallying behind Hamlin at every race, with an equally large group of haters too. However, there are times when the Toyota star loses his pace and falls behind his rivals.

JGR chief Chris Gabehart spoke up on one weakness in Denny Hamlin. He reckoned that the chink in the No. 11 driver’s armor was racing on road courses. Hamlin has failed to carry his dominance from ovals to such tracks.
Over the years, NASCAR has increased the number of road courses in the calendar. This ends up breaking Hamlin’s momentum and pushes him behind once again. Nevertheless, the JGR star is aware of this problem and will be working on trying to improve as much as possible during the Playoffs.
The one chink in Denny’s and the No. 11 team’s armor, of course, is road course racing. And because there are so many of them, it can break up momentum throughout the year. ortunately for Denny, he’s very keenly aware of his strengths and his weaknesses. And I don’t think he lets it affect him too much. But that really is their only weakness.
Chris Gabehart told Motor Racing Network.
Certainly, Denny Hamlin will need to step up his game at all tracks in the Playoffs. The No. 11 driver cannot afford any mistakes if he wants to win his 60th Cup race this season. Moreover, the competition is only getting fiercer as the season continues, guaranteeing fans of some chaotic battles on-track.
