‘I enjoy where this series is,’ veteran Kevin Harvick hints at a prolonged Cup Series career with Stewart-Haas Racing

The NASCAR veterans are finding it hard to acclimatize themselves with Next-Gen cars on the other hand the young guns are running away with the competition securing successive race wins and championships. Drivers who are 30 years or younger went on a 12 race winning streak which only got broken last weekend by Denny Hamlin at Richmond.
Denny Hamlin wasn’t the only veteran to make his return to form in a Next-Gen car at Richmond, 2012 Cup Series Champion Kevin Harvick was also alongside Hamlin in his final laps onslaught and came short of a win at the finish line. The 46 years old made his way to his first top 5 in 2022 but failed to secure his first win since late 2020.
The fact remains that Kevin Harvick is a fading star as he has a long way to go to find his way to a race win in Cup Series even though he has made waves last week. Now the veteran has come forth hinting toward no recent retirement plans and how he is going along the team now.

Kevin Harvick acknowledged that he likes where he is with Stewart-Haas Racing and added that he especially likes this year due to the efficient team he has in terms of problem-solving and fixing the car. He went on to say he still enjoys the Next-Gen car and the Cup Series challenges. Kevin Harvick went on to add he might feel like abandoning his crew if he doesn’t last a few more years alongside them, hinting toward a long stay in Cup Series.
“I like where I race. I like Stewart-Haas Racing. I like the atmosphere. I like the people. That’s really the biggest reason that I like to do it, especially this year. You’re with a group of people where you’re constantly problem-solving. You’re trying to fix it faster than everybody else and come to something that is better than everybody else so you can win races,” Kevin Harvick said.
“I like the core group of guys that I started herewith. That’s why they all came here, and I guess I would feel like I’m abandoning them if I didn’t go a couple more years. For me, I still enjoy that challenge. I enjoy where this series is, and learning about the new car is not a bad thing to do as you go forward into the future and do something different,” Kevin Harvick added.
Kevin Harvick will hit the Martinsville Speedway this weekend for Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 400 and will be hoping to emulate his Richmond runner’s finish and more.
