The NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway went from almost a dream run to a nightmare for Tyler Reddick, because of Daniel Suarez. He now finds himself without a secured spot in the playoffs, as the no-winner with the most points, after Alex Bowman’s P2 finish at helped the HMS driver to significantly close the gap on him.
Tyler Reddick had a strong start to the Cook Out 400, winning stage one and being a strong position behind teammate Bubba Wallace on stage two before Ty Gibbs spun him out. But it wasn’t the young Joe Gibbs Racing drivers’ fault, as the No:54 car was bumped hard from the back by the No:99 Chevy of Daniel Saurez, who miscalculated the Toyota’s speed.

The 23XI Racing driver addressed the result and the consequences of the Trackhouse drivers’ action on his post-race interview. He called out the Chevy driver for being impatient and asserted that though the Mexican American claims he didn’t do it intentionally, it wasn’t unintentional as well considering his past.
Daniel just got impatient and knocked the 54 out of the way, and that’s what took us out. Unfortunately, I had a feeling that was going to happen and I was just hoping more respect was going to be given. He went in there, and he moved the 54. I don’t know if he meant for it to wreck me, but nonetheless, I feel like time and time again, Daniel has done that type of thing.

Further talking about the point, Reddick admitted that thanks to Daniel Suarez, he is in the worst-case scenario going into Daytona. He has to secure the most points, if not for the win, on next Sunday to secure his place in the playoffs along side his teammate Bubba Wallace, who made it into the last 16 win his win at Indy.
It was pretty much worst-case scenario for us. When you have a Toyota Camry as fast as ours is, you need to score the points. The 48 scored a lot of points, and the 3 won. So, all in all, it was pretty much a worst-case scenario. Yeah, we can thank Daniel Suárez for that.
Tyler Reddick added.
2025 winless streak is bothering Tyler Reddick a lot
Ahead of the Richmond race, Tyler Reddick shared his thoughts on how much the winless run is bothering him and the No:45 Toyota crew. It has brought down the overall moral of the team as well as the positive momentum them needs to remain consistent. They are looking for ways to balance the pressure to be more effective.

It definitely bothers all of us. It’s important for it to be motivational and motivate yourself to win, but you have to be careful not to let the wave of the drought bring us down as a group. It’s an important balance. You want to put that pressure on to get the job done, but too much and it can swallow you up.
Tyler Reddick said.
What is more disappointing is the fact that Tyler Reddick was getting ready to fight for the regular season championship last season with Kyle Larson, that he won, the same time last season. How much his form and performance dropped shows the additional pressure that is on the shoulders of Michael Jordan’s driver going into Daytona where he has never won.
