Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin has been one of the most accomplished drivers in the sports history and is the greatest driver in the sports history without a title, even ahead of Mark Martin. Ever since his debut for the No:11 Toyota Camry team, he has been a championship contender and it is still the case in 2025, despite him being 44.

Denny Hamlin has already secured his spot in the playoffs, bagging two wins from 14 races so far. Him finishing half of these races inside the top-5 shows hie impressive consistency, and other than a two-race streak of bad finishes in May due to unfortunate incident he had been strong this season. Senior NASCAR Journalist Jordan Bianchi has analyzed the veteran’s run in the most recent episode of their podcast for Dirty Mo Media.

We kind of forgot a little bit, because they had a really tough stretch in May. But you look at their results, you’ve got to look deeper. They finished P38 at Texas, but he was running, you know, among the leaders and had a fresh car at Texas when he had a mechanical issue. P36 at Kansas, same thing, right? And then Charlotte… ended up having to make an extra stop there.

Jordan Bianchi said via The Teardown podcast.

The No:11 team has solid speed week in week out, making him the best Toyota driver of the day alongside No:20 driver Christopher Bell. The teams haven’t had a bad race yet as per the insider and only bad moments, that ruined race results. It has been the story of Hamlin’s NASCAR career as he always falls victim to some incidents on the track even when they have the best cars of the day, making him an almost champion every week.

So, they’ve had speed, week in and week out. They really haven’t had a bad race. They just haven’t had the finish to correspond with that. Denny is certainly in the mix.

Jordan Bianchi asserted.

Further talking about the point, the analyst asserted that Denny Hamlin in the top of the list for the championship contenders for the 2025 season and this might finally be Hamlin’s year. He is joined in the list by Ryan Blaney, defending champion Joey Logano, and the Hendrick Motorsports duo of William Byron and Kyle Larson, who are the table leaders.

If you’re going to make a list of drivers who you feel like are championship contenders, Denny is certainly on that list, along with Blaney, along with Logano, along with Larson, along with Byron. I would propel him there.

Jordan Bianchi added.

Denny Hamlin is on baby watch yet again

Just like he has been last week at Nashville Superspeedway, Hamlin is on baby watch this weekend as his finance Jordan Fish, is ready to deliver their third child. They family is patiently waiting for any symptoms and as soon as there is something there, the veteran will be flying back, leaving the NASCAR race behind.

Just patiently waiting. Thought we’d be almost a week in by now, but just patiently waiting. We’re gonna wait to see where her symptoms are at. I’ve got some meetings and whatnot here first. So, after that’s over, see where her symptoms (are) at and if she has any then certainly, we’ll go back.

The TRD teams’ reserve driver Ryan Truex, brother of former JGR driver Martin Truex Jr. is the backup driver for this weekend as well. If Hamlin leaves, the veteran racer will get his first Cup start in five years. It would be interesting to how the weekend is going to playout for the star driver.
