Chase Elliott started the NASCAR Next-Gen era strong with multiple races wins and the 2022 Regular Season championship win. But after a snowboarding accident in 2023 that made him miss six races, he hasn’t been on his best form. He ended the year winless and won just one race in the 2024 season, with some consistent top 10 being the only positive.

But with his teammates Kyle Larson and William Byron dominating every race, and even Alex Bowman producing some solid runs, Chase Elliott needs to step up. Senior NASCAR journalist Jordan Bianchi vis his podcast analyzed the No:9 teams’ performance and highlighted how he even Wood Brother’s Racing has more wins than him,

We need to have a Chase Elliott conversation. Since the start of the 2023 season, the Wood Brothers have more wins than Chase Elliott does. That’s crazy to think about. That’s no disrespect to the Wood Brothers; that’s just the reality of the situation. They have two wins. Chase Elliott has one points win since the start of the 2023 season. That’s crazy to think about.

Jordan Bianchi stated, via The Teardown podcast.

The 2025 season so far has been the same story with team grinding out some top-10 finishes. But none of his runs hasn’t shown sign of race win potential as he is just 15th in laps lead this season, despite being in a dominant HMS car. The team and the drivers need to clean up the mess as soon as possible.

This is again becoming a typical, what I would associate with a typical Chase Elliott year… You look at their average finish, you know, that kind of thing, and they grind out these finishes, and that’s good… but that’s not good enough for this team. You look at laps-led this year… Elliott, 15th. 45 laps-led this year. This team should be better. It needs to be better.

Jordan Bianchi added.

Chase Elliott addresses his winless run

Recently Chase Elliott addressed his run, that isn’t yielding the number wins as he should, and admitted that he wishes he had more points wins. He wanted to built on the 2025 Clash win, which he has failed to do so and is desperately looking to find ways to secure the goal.

Obviously, I would have loved to have had more points wins. Certainly, the Clash was a great weekend for us. And while it wasn’t a points win — and I’m very much aware of that — it wasn’t like nobody was trying. For us, that was a great way to start the season, and we just have to keep building on it.

Chase Elliott said.

The comments from the Hendrick Motorsports drivers shows, just like his fans he is disappointed with lack of wins despite the consistencies. It would be interesting to see how long it will take him to get back to winning ways.
