NASCAR’s visit to Circuits of the Americas for only the second edition of EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix was more chaotic and wilder than expected. The drivers took on the first road course of 2022 with all their might which produced one of the most exciting final laps of all time.

The ever-growing and developing Trackhouse racing saw their hard work pays off in Texas as Ross Chastain, their No:1 Chevrolet driver earned them the number one spot at the podium climbing to the top of the grid from P16. The race got exciting after the final restart which saw a four-way fight between the front runners Alex Bowman, Tylor Reddick, AJ Allmendinger, and Ross Chastain.

Tyler Reddick lost his lead pretty soon after the other three overtook him to make it a three-way battle to the top after some friendly pushes and swapping the lead multiple times but Chastain decided the race by divebombing inside of Allmendinger which spun his mentor out of the final sprint.

Christopher Bell took the opportunity to get past Tyler Reddick to secure a p3 finish ahead of Chase Elliott and AJ Allmendinger couldn’t recover fast enough as he found himself at P33 in the result board.

Ross Chastain acknowledged that none of his NASCAR career finishes felt any better than his first cup series win in COTA. He went on to add that it was insane for him to race his mentor A J Allmendinger but said that he couldn’t go down so easily as his first cup win was at stake.

It’s never tasted sweeter, I tell ya,” Ross Chastain said.

It’s insane. To go up against some of the best with A.J., I mean, I know he is going to be upset with me, but we raced hard, both of us, and he owes me one. But when it comes to a Cup win, man, I can’t let that go down without a fight,” Ross Chastain added.

Ross Chastain said that he has no idea how he was able to regain control of the car during the chaos and once again stressed the fact that he owns a lot to his mentor and fellow racer A J Allmendinger for how the race has turned out to be.

“I don’t know how we got back by. I was so worried about A.J. on the second-to-last restart that I let Tyler drive right by both of us. And A.J. is so good. I’ve learned so much from him. And it was like how do you go beat the guy? He taught me so much,” Ross Chastain said.
