NASCAR is a sport that is heavily depends up on the sponsorship each team secures and having the right sponsor often helps them to succeeded. Lack of proper partnership or failure to replace huge sponsor, can hurt a team a lot. This factor played a significant role in Ford team Stewart Haas Racing ceasing of operations at the end of this season.

Each team and driver attract different level of sponsorship, with stars drivers and veterans garnering more attention. But does this factor affects how the money is spent and will the major earners get special attention. According to Joe Gibbs Racing Media Strategist Reece Kennedy that’s not the case. He explained how the TRD giants allocates their budgets.

He pointed out that at JGR regardless of the mount each driver brings in, it goes to the overall operating budgets and all the expenses are equally divided among the teams, regardless of their contributions. Kennedy asserted that there is no segmentation of finances as per team for the championship winning team.

At Joe Gibbs Racing, we’re four cars, one team, so all the money goes into our overall operating budget. Expenses and everything are divided up evenly among all the teams, regardless of how much a sponsor pays or a particular driver makes. It all goes into one bucket, and we do everything as a team, so nothing is segmented per team as far as finances go.

Reece Kennedy said via video released on Instagram.

Joe Gibbs Racing is going into the 2025 season with a significant internal reorganization

The last five season hasn’t gone the way they expected for JGR, whose last championship win came in 2019 with Kyle Busch. Despite winning significant number of races wins in the Next-Gen, era the teams haven’t been lucky enough to win the Bill France Cup.

Going into 2025, they team is determined to change that and has made some changes to the organization to achieve these goals. Chris Gabehart was promoted to the role of the competition director. Denny Hamlin and Ty Gibbs would also have new crew chiefs for the 2025 season.

They will also have a new driver in Chase Briscoe for the upcoming season. He is set to drive the No:19 Toyota replacing Martin Truex Jr. who retired at the end of the 2024 season. It would be interesting to see how the team will perform next year after the changes.
