The 2024 NASCAR Cup season so far has been a nightmare for all the Ford teams in the NASCAR Cup garage. They haven’t won a single race on all three NASCAR national series’ and last Sunday at Kansas had their biggest heart break. RFK Racing Chris Beuscher lost the race in the No:17 Ford Mustang to Kyle Larson with a 0.001 second gap.
The Ford garage’s lead driver Joey Logano, who was the maiden champion in the Next-Gen era, is one of the drivers having a stinger of a season. He has scored just a single top-5 and two top-10s from the 12 races so far this season and is outside the last 16 in the championship point table. At the start of the season the veteran was calm about the streak, but now has started panicking.
He pointed out that the No:22 team has slightly hit the panic button as now they are trying whatever they can to get an edge. But they are unsure about the final direction they should take to develop the cars and that has put them in a situation where they are bit lose. He added that they have to do something different soon.
So, when you get in a situation like this it’s, you know, you start to hit the panic button a little bit. Whereas you’re trying a lot of new things, you’re swinging the bat at whatever you can think of. Let’s try this, well let’s try this, this isn’t working, let’s try this, and you’re just trying to find a direction because you get a little bit lost. Like, ‘Well we’ve got no speed, we’ve gotta do something different. What direction do we go?Joey Logano said via SiriusXM NASCAR.

Joey Logano is not surprised by RFK Racing’s pace at Kansas
When asked about his opinion RFK Racing’s performance at Kansas, the No:22 Ford driver pointed out that he wasn’t surprised by many. He pointed out that the team has been really good at smooth tracks, but admitted that he doesn’t know the secret behind the form.
As surprising it is to some, probably not as surprising to me, they seem to be really good at fast, smooth race tracks. That seems to be RFK’s wheelhouse. When you look at ride height pictures and those type of things, they’re different than us, and how they get it to work, we don’t know.Joey Logano said.
There are 13 more races left in the regular season for Joey Logano to secure at least one race win and the playoff slot. The driver and the team has to perfect their execution in order to return to the victory lane.
