Two times Cup Series champion Joey Logano came into the 2024 season with the hopes of redeeming himself from the disappointing 2023 title defense season. His plans for redemption didn’t go as planned as he hasn’t found the superior consistency that made him a champion yet, but successfully got his spot locked in the championship-4, peaking at the right moments.

Joey Logano was initially eliminated from the playoffs after R-12 but got the opportunity to return to chase following Alex Bowman’s DQ. He took it with both hands won the immediate race, at Las Vegas, to secure championship-4 spot. The Ford driver since then has been given the tag of lucky. Ahead of the finale Logano has come out slamming the criticism.

If we’re all supposed to be playing on an equal playing field and they pushed it too far, you’re going to get dinged for it. We all push it far and however it happened; I don’t know. But they went too far and NASCAR had to put the foot down. We were next in line.

Joey Logano said during season finale media day.

He asserted that them getting into the R-8 because of Bowman’s DQ was no luck and highlighted that he was able to get in because he fought his way into the P9 in the table at the moment. He believes the spot has been his own the wholetime.

Does that make us lucky? No, we were next in line for a reason and we had to race against a car that wasn’t legal. We had the spot the whole time.

The Ford driver also addressed the negative comments from some race analysts about the drivers who made it into the championship-4. He believes that everyone in the finale deserved to the be there as everyone hard to work hard to get into the lats race.

Everyone is going to have their own opinion. I’ve listened to this channel a lot. Everyone’s got their own opinion, and I love that. To me, that’s how I see it. Nobody makes it to the Championship 4 not in a deserving way. You have to get here somehow.

The No:22 Ford veteran seems to be focused on the finale and is determined to win his third championship. It will be interesting to see how the champion driver will perform in the in the Cup season finale.
