Joey Logano was full of praise for Brad Keselowski for playing a role in his move to Team Penske over a decade ago.

Penske star Joey Logano had an impressive outing at the Texas Motor Speedway. The 34-year-old took the Cup Series win in the Wurth 400, bringing his career win tally to 37. This breaks the joint 24th overall win record he held with ex-teammate Brad Keselowski. As Logano achieved this feat, he only had kind words for Keselowski’s involvement throughout his career.
Logano was asked how he felt to find himself ahead of Brad Keselowski with this victory. The Team Penske Racing’s three times championship winning driver has heartwarming relationship with Keselowski, also he has immense respect for the 41-year-old. So much so that the RFK Racing owner/driver is one of the few people Joey Logano completely trusts.
I respect Brad as a driver a lot, even more so than anything. So, you know and where he’s I consider a great friend of mine.I don’t think there’s many people I trust as much as Brad. It’s cool that we go out and race each other still.
Joey Logano said, as quoted by Frontstretch.

The two drivers were teammates at Team Penske for nine seasons between 2013-2021. This created a strong bond not only between Logano and Keselowski, as well as among their families, which remains till this day. It was the now 41-year-old who told Roger Penske to sign Logano in 2013 after a poor JGR stint. As such, the 32-year-old’s entire success at the team could be traced back to Brad Keselowski’s conversation with the team owner. This is something that Logano remains grateful for.
We’re able to separate what we do on the racetrack and what our families are like… Racing against him for my whole career right we came in at the same time so and I always say, even he was a big part of getting me here to Team Penske. He was the one who told Roger that ‘you need to get Joey to drive.’ I owe a lot to him for saying that.
Joey Logano added.
Joey Logano not caring about ‘racking up wins’
Logano’s victory in Texas now places him alongside Bobby Isaac as 23rd overall in NASCAR history. Despite this massive achievement, the Team Penske star remained humble. Joey Logano made it clear that being in the record books is never on his mind when he is racing on-track.

To keep climbing up in the record books, I don’t look at it that often. It’s cool here and you’re telling me. But I feel like its still got a ways to go.
Joey Logano stated.
The 32-year-old insisted that racking up wins was certainly cool. Joey Logano pointed out that one never really knows when they will take their last ever victory in the sport. However, he made it clear that just racking up such stats was not good enough. Drivers must make some positive change in the lives of people by using the platform they get. Logano asserted that this would bring something meaningful apart from the on-track results.
So don’t look at the whole bunch but racking up stats are cool. You don’t know when your last win is or those types of things. But you need to rack them up. I always say there’s more important things than just racking wins, you gotta do something with them afterwards. Make sure you make an impact in people’s lives the best way you can. But the wins definitely help do that.
Joey Logano explained.
Certainly, Joey Logano understands the importance of off-track activities. NASCAR drivers do have the platform to make meaningful changes or raise awareness about certain issues that impact people. At the end of the day, records are meant to be broken. However, when a driver makes an impact in the life of even a single individual, it could completely change their world.
