The 2024 NASCAR Cup season marked history in making with Joey Logano securing his third career championship. He peaked at the right moment in the playoff and with a pinch of luck on his side, helped Team Penske Racing to continue their domination in the Next-Gen era, as they have won all the titles since the new car was introduced.

Becoming a champion comes with a lot of responsibilities, and Joey Logano, being the most successful active racer, knowns it better than any racers. He understood the opportunity and advantage that’s ahead of him being a champion, as he sees the potential of helping the sports to grow with his media ventures as well as other moves.

I guess I’m more comfortable in the position and understand the opportunity that’s ahead of us as the champion. There’s a lot of opportunity to take advantage of, whether it’s with the media, growing our sport, growing our race team…

Joey Logano said after winning the championship.

He is not willing to waste the opportunity that was offered to him as he knows they possibility of him having the chance to make a difference again is slim and really hard to come by. Logano is determined to take the responsibility.

But you don’t want to just waste the opportunity because you don’t know if you’ll ever have it again, right? And they’re really hard to come by. So being the current champion comes with a lot of responsibility, and you don’t want to waste that.

Joey Logano added.

Joey Logano shared his verdict on potentially shortening NASCAR schedule

The NSASCAR Cup series features 36 official races and two exhibition events, making some feel there is too many races. Joey Logano though doesn’t have the same feelings and believes shortening it might kill the momentum the sport is in.

I think it kills the momentum of the sport for one I think that’s not really good. I think if you shorten the season well everyone you got to justify everybody’s salary somehow.

Joey Logano said.

The comments from the reigning champion does hold some ground, as shortening season will come with it’s won consequences, with some significant financial burden. It will be interesting to see if NASCAR would ever look into reducing the number of races.
