NASCAR is truly the pinnacle of stock racing and takes extreme hard work and effort to make it to the top level. Kids start practicing in karts at a very young age to ultimately make their mark in the top categories of motorsport.

Joey Logano has been one of the many drivers who had some cherished moments during his childhood karting days with his father. However, seeing the current state of junior categories, Logano has a stern message to all the parents of the young generations of motorsport drivers.

Many young children of current NASCAR drivers are making their mark in the junior categories. Notably, Brexton Busch recently won the INEX championship at a young age of ten, and is looking for a promising career in NASCAR.

Even 2014 Cup Champion Kevin Harvick‘s son, Keelan Harvick, recently achieved success in junior categories. As such, Joey Logano shares his unfiltered opinion on what is currently going on between the kids and parents in terms of racing in motorsports from a young age.

Joey Logano asserted that the love for driving and racing was something that came naturally to people. Logano insisted that not everyone was bound to love driving fast cars and competing at the highest level. Moreover, many people couldn’t handle the pressure that came with having a career in motorsport and did not find true enjoyment in their racing careers, despite racing just to keep their family satisfied.

I always had fun doing it. Like to my point earlier, like when I get home, I drive stuff because I love it. Not everybody loves it so much or maybe they don’t handle the pressure the same and find enjoyment in some of that.

Joey Logano said on the Donuts Podcast.

Further, Joey Logano accepted that every parent might not think the same as him in terms of competitiveness and harboring a great talent in their kids. But the three-time Cup Champion felt that parents pushing their kids to get better in motorsports did more harm than good. Logano believed that pushing kids to the extreme took the joy out of competing in races and caused them to lose interest in the sport early on.

Like maybe their competitiveness isn’t like crazy level that I am, but I hate to see parents trying to push their kids because to get better and do all these quick things and then they take the joy of competing as a kid away.

Joey Logano claims “nobody cares” about results in junior categories

Many of the current NASCAR drivers made it big in the junior categories and quickly rose through the ranks. However, many other drivers did not rise to success overnight but rather made their way up the ladder one step at a time. Now, speaking on parents who forced their kids to become more competitive, Logano made a striking claim that not everyone cared about the results in the junior categories.

Joey Logano reassured everyone that every person from NASCAR wasn’t looking at the races that ten-year-olds participated in. He stressed that no talent scouts were looking at kids’ races and gaining faith in them to make it big in the pinnacle of stock racing. Logano boldly claimed that nobody cared about what the kids were doing in junior leagues, and hence, asked everyone to simply have fun while racing out on the track.

It’s supposed to be like fun because like no one is watching, like there’s no scouts. There’s no NASCAR scouts out watching a 10year-old race. Nobody cares. I’m just being honest. So go have fun.

Joey Logano noted.

Certainly, the path of making it big in motorsport is a long one, filled with disappointments and many hurdles. Joey Logano definitely knows how it feels to suffer from ups and downs in their racing career. As such, the three-time champion’s advice is certainly legitimate and comes from a place of love and concern. It will be heartwarming to see parents take this advice to heart and go easy on their kids, let them enjoy racing in junior categories, and make it up the ranks at their own pace.
