Before surviving the five overtime restarts for the win at Nashville, Logano was under huge pressure. Being in the playoff bubble was really taxing for him as he couldn’t even sleep well on someday. Now with it finally over because of his race win, he feels relived and Logano now has seven weeks before the playoff to drive with a clam head.
It’s been a hard season and being on that cutline, I tell you it sucks. It’s just not fun. It’s hard and you just want a little bit of relief of the pressure and with seven weeks to go until the playoffs it gives us a chance to breathe for a second and start just kind of working on our car a little bit differently and just sleep better, to be honest with you.Joey Logano said via NBC.
Joey Logano credits teamwork for the win
The No:22 Ford wasn’t the best car of the day under any circumstances on Sunday, but they were able to win the race because of the fuel management and strategy. Logano in post-race interview gave all the credits to his team that helped him to pull off the surprise.
A lot of teamwork there. You have to give a lot of credit to our fueler, Nick Hensley, our engine department with Roush Yates building obviously some engines that could also manage fuel really well, and some guts – a lot of cajones made it happen.Joey Logano said.
The race win will give Logano and his crew the confidence alongside the momentum it needs to convert the season to championship contending year. It would be interesting to see how the reminder the year would playout for the team.
