After winning the 2024 Cup Series championship, Joey Logano and the Penske team were encapsulated by a wave of celebration. On the other hand, with the 34-year-old having etched his name in NASCAR’s history books, Logano ventured over and discussed some interesting post-retirement plans.

Joey Logano was the No.22 charter driver at Phoenix, which won the championship race and the Cup Series championship for the Ford driver. Despite him having the world to his own currently, his age has been racking up over the years. He is currently aged 34 and in the coming years, will soon cross 40, which makes his retirement seem not so far away after all.

With Logano having achieved a feat that only a few other drivers have ever done in the history of NASCAR, his post-retirement plans seem too normal for a person with a cabinet full of trophies.

I think doing other things is important. I like playing in some real estate stuff. We’ve got the production company that I’m a part of. I like trying to prove to myself that I’m not just a one-trick pony.

So the reigning champion’s plan appears to be going in the right direction, and fans could soon expect to see him running a real estate firm. Thus, Logano’s legacy would soon transcend the boundaries of racing and acquire an all-rounder role later down the line.

However, for such plans to get into action, Logano would first have to take retirement. On the other hand, his relationship with team owner Roger Penske has never been better, and he is expected to continue racing for at least a few more years due to the longevity of his contract.

Subsequently, the No.22 driver shed light on his 12-year-long partnership with the 87-year-old and asserted how the key to his retirement is in Penske’s hands as he would step down from racing when his partnership with the North-Carolina-based team ends.

I know I’m doing this for a few years, for sure. As long as Roger[Penske] wants me in the contract, I think we’re, you know, we continue going.

This gives Logano immense support from the team’s hierarchy to continue well into the later years of his career and possibly win a few more championships before his inevitable retirement. So he would hope to establish a great title defense next year and add another Cup Series championship to his cabinet.

However, his teammate Ryan Blaney would like to ruin his plans as he finished runners-up in the championship despite being separated by a few mere tenths. Thus, an exciting championship battle is expected to brew between the Penske drivers with some youngsters trying to spoil their party.
