Dale Earnhardt is a NASCAR legend. The late American driver performed at another level compared to his rivals, dominating the stock car series. Dale Sr.’s son Dale Earnhardt Jr. carried forward his legacy on and off-track, with a special documentary on Amazon Prime. However, NASCAR veteran Kenny Wallace made it clear that he could not watch this Prime special.

The Dale Earnhardt documentary titled, ‘Earnhardt’ was released on May 22, 2025. The four-part series covers some memorable moments in Dale Sr.’s career. While the final episode focused on his tragic death at the Daytona 500 in 2001, when he competed alongside his son.

The first season has been loved by fans, who get a deep insight into the life of the NASCAR legend. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has put immense efforts behind the scenes to do his father’s legacy justice on the screen.

Kenny Wallace was asked by a fan on X, over his opinion on the documentary. The NASCAR veteran made it clear that he was not going to watch the series anytime soon. Wallace who was a close aide to Dale Sr. asserted that the entire series is too emotional for him, as he could remember the NASCAR legend’s death at Daytona.

He made it clear that he could not sit through the documentary and experience the same thing again. However, the 61-year-old insisted that the series was a great way for new fans to understand the legacy of Dale Sr.

I will not watch it because I already know what happened and it’s too emotional for me. I do not want to put my heart through that again. However, the young generation needs to see it.

While the NASCAR veteran is not planning to watch Dale Sr.’s documentary, he is enjoying his time through other projects. Kenny Wallace watched the F1 film the past weekend, a massive $300 million project, co-produced by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. With Hollywood icon Brad Pitt taking the lead role.

Kenny Wallace shared a post on X over the film’s box office collection in the US. In the opening weekend, Brad Pitt’s film earned over $55 million in the domestic market. Wallace declared that the movie was a good watch not just for racing fans, signaling that it would entertain even casual viewers.

While Kenny Wallace might not be the target audience of Dale Sr.’s documentary, there are plans for a second season. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has revealed that the next season will focus on his father’s title winning 1980 season in the Cup Series.

Earnhardt Jr. has completed the recording of the upcoming season, though no release date has been issued just yet. Fans might need to wait a few months before being able to watch Dale Sr.’s story once again.
