The NASCAR off season is the time for the racers to take the rest they deserve and spend some valuable time with their family. It’s also the time for them to do some dangerous/stupid activities they can’t during the season. RFK Racing owner driver Brad Keselowski did the same with a ski trip with his family and unfortunately things went south.
The 2012 Cup champion was involved in an accident and broke his leg. Brad Keselowski underwent in a routine surgery and is in rehab, working extra hard to get himself fit for the 2026 Daytona 500. Ex-racer Kenny Wallace addressed the situation in the latest video shared on his YouTube channel, advising the legendary racer to limit the dangerous activities he is being part of.
So, I’m not going to say, do you stop skiing? Do you stop doing extra uh activities? What I am going to say is do you try really hard to limit your dangerous activities when you are a NASCAR Cup driver and you got hundreds of employees depending on you. I think you got to live your life. I think you got to live your life. I don’t know if you can put bubble wrap around your body and promise everybody that you won’t do anything.
Kenny Wallace said via his YouTube channel.
The veteran dirt racer doesn’t want Keselowski to stop doing every such activities, instead he wants him to always be aware of the fact that they are responsible for the 50 employees and their family’s working in their crew. Wallace also name dropped the likes of Alex Bowman and Chase Elliott, who had accidents that sidelined them for weeks in 2024.
But I will say that when you’re a Brad Keselowski and you are these great drivers like a Chase Elliot and Alex Bowman and a full cup team. Uh you know, a lot of these cup teams got 50 employees. That’s 50 families… But when I see these race teams run, I see there’s a, you know, a lot of people that are being paid and they’re they’re counting on Chase Elliot and then he broke that leg there a couple years ago. Then you’re looking at Brad Keslowski.
Kenny Wallace added.
Kenny Wallace explained why Brad Keselowski family was still happy despite the accident
In the same video, Kenny Wallace shared his thoughts on the image shared online by Keselowski where he can be seen smiling on the hospital bed with his wife and kids besides him. The veteran pointed out that the Keselowski family is happy because they avoided a tragedy and that feelings make a lot of sense.

Now, I tell you, um, I know what I’m going to say is strange because it feels strange saying it, but I’ve never seen anybody not celebrate a broken leg, but Brad Keslowski breaks his leg in a skiing accident, but they’re smiling. They’re celebrating and I I understand that Brad’s probably looking at like, “Hey, I still have my life.” And on one of his posts, it uh it made sense to me.
Kenny Wallace said.
They might be happy with the fact that because the incident they will get more personal time with the racer, as he won’t be going out from the family house many times in the off-season. The accident occurred in the right time for the veteran, as he now has enough time to recover before the 2026 season opener.
