2014 NASCAR Cup champion Kevin Harvick retired from full time racing in 2023, marking an end a NASCAR career at the top that lasted over two decades. He is currently enjoying his off days to the fullest, spending more time with his family, while also remaining close to the sport he loves as a broadcaster with Fox Sports.
He recently made his return to racing in a late model race evet in the CARS Tour event. Kevin Harvick co-owns the series with Trcakhouse Racing’s Justin Marks, Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. and ex-teammate Clint Bowyer. Return to racing after a long break didn’t go as planned for the veteran as he realized he became slow.

He admitted that he has become slow comparted to most of the regular drivers and found it hard to compete with them. At the same time, he also highlighted how delighted he was to host the race at North Wilkesboro, a track that was recently revived with Dale Jr. leading from the front. It has hosted the last two All-star race weekends.
I learned that I’m slow. That’s what I learned the most and you know it’s hard to come in here and compete with these when they race all the time. The track is obviously a lot different but it’s still North Wilkesboro and for us, we’re very fortunate to have a race track like this that believes in what we do at the CARS Tour.Kevin Harvick told FloRacing.
Kevin Harvick is looking forward to racing a lot in the remaining months
The veteran missed a lot of racing because of his Fox Sports job, and now is looking forward using the off-time he gets to be part of more racing events. He might race in more CARS Tour event in the coming’s weeks.
You see that, this is a tough weekend to come and have a makeup race with a rain date and to have this many cars show up it says a lot about our competitors and we appreciate that. So, I’m looking forward to tonight and learning and I’ve been able to be around the cars a lot since I got done with my yearly job at FOX and have been able to be apart of the teams and be at a lot of the races and looking to have some fun.Kevin Harvick said.
The fans also are looking forward to seeing the veteran back on track entertaining them. It would be interesting to see how the Cup champion would faire against hungry young drivers in the upcoming races.
