Bubba Wallace is one of the drivers with the most pressure going into this week’s race at Darlington, which also marks the regular season finale. He is currently 17th in the standing following Harrison Burton’s Daytona win and has to either win or completely outperform Chris Buescher to progress into the last-16.

2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick recently shared his piece of mind on Bubba Wallace’s mindset via his podcast Happy Hours ahead of the race week. The former SHR driver asserted that the Toyota racer has to be laser-focused and has to do everything he can to put himself in a position to get out of the mess he is in.

From the driver’s standpoint, you prepare just like you would have prepared and you’re laser-focused on doing everything that you can do to put yourself in a position.

He admitted that Bubba Wallace is in an interesting scenario at the moment and needs all hands-on deck from his team to make it to the playoffs. Harvick also urged Wallace to have confidence in his car to be in a better position considering they have been fast most races this season.

He knows his cars have been fast and he should have the confidence to know that he can go out there and compete to put himself in a position to be competitive and see where it all falls. It’s an interesting scenario, but it’ll be all hands on deck to do what they have to do.

The ex-RCR driver believes the 23XI Racing team has been working on Bubba Wallace’s car more during the Olympics break as a last bit-off effort to make it into the playoffs. He believes the Toyota team is ready to whatever they want to make sure they get into the last-16.

I think since the break it’s been that way. I think they’ve been focused on that 23 car. Really, it doesn’t change a lot except for those things we talk about that might be questionable and being able to really put that last bit of effort into everything that you have going on. You hope that you don’t have to do it at this point, but they’re in a position where they got to do it and they got to do whatever they have to do.

The star driver is determined to make a difference in the lats race of the season and is ready to do whatever it takes. In order to progress he has to be perfect with his execution and also be ready to make aggressive move he often doesn’t make.
