After a controversial finish to the Richmond Cup race, the NASCAR Cup garage is at Michigan International Speedway for first of the last three races of the 2024 regular season. The drivers in the playoff bubble, including Martin Truex Jr., Bubba Wallace and Ross Chastain would come to the track all guns blazing, hoping for the crucial win.

If a driver outside the bubble wins a race, that would put the racers in a huge disadvantage. Ex-NASCAR Cup champion Kevin Harvick prediction might have given them some hope. He reckons the driver with the best shot at winning the FireKeepers Casino 400 is RFK Racing owner driver Brad Keselowski.

Harvick chose the 2012 Cup champion over his RFK Racing teammate Chris Buescher, who is one of the drivers in the bubble desperate for a race win. He asserted that Ford’s past at the track, alongside the extra emphasis engine builder Doug Yates have about the event will give the No:6 Mustang the advantage over it’s rivals.

I’m going to go with his teammate, Brad Keselowski. I think that the Fords have just been so good here. Doug Yates and everybody at Ford always put a lot of emphasis on this race, and the teams know that.

Kevin Harvick reckons the engine upgrade will help the Fords at Michigan

While further talking about the topic, Harvick pointed out that Ford might be bringing in an engine upgrade specifically for this weekend. This would give the Mustangs and edge as the Ford RPM really suits the track that demands balanced aggression.

And I think that’s one reason that they run so well. So if there’s an engine upgrade, it’ll come here. And it also fits the Ford RPM band really well with the way that this track lays out.
Kevin Harvick said.

Alongside Keselowski, the Team Penske duo of Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney would be big factor as they would be looking for redemption from the disappointing Richmond weekend. No Ford team finished inside the top-10 last week, so they would be motivated to dominate this race weekend.
