Harvick picked Bell, because he has first-hand experience of the impressive form the Noo:20 Toyota driver often found at Roval as he as lost the race to him two years ago. He also based his prediction in the fact that everyone is sleeping on the star driver despite JGR having best cars on the rough tracks.

I’m gonna go with Christopher Bell. I think he’s got nothing to lose, he beat me a couple years ago with like two laps to go. I think that the [Joe Gibbs Racing] cars on rough race tracks like that always seem to have a better handling package. I’m going with Christopher Bell because I’m tired of everybody sleeping on him.

Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour podcast.

Christopher Bell is excited for the Charlotte race

Going into this race weekend, Bell has more confidence than any of the driver because of his points advantage and feels he can use this to toa more risk. This factor will enable him to go all in and aggressive for the race victory and not to worry about having to go for stage points.

I mean I’m excited about it now with the points that we have it’s going to allow us to be really aggressive on the strategy side, to go all out for a race win and you know it’s never fun whenever you go into a road course having to worry about points because the strategy is so dictated by flipping the stages to keep your track position.

The Toyota driver flew under the radar to make it into the championship-4 in the last two seasons and the current pattern he is suggest that same probably going to happen again this season. It will be interesting to see if Bell would be able to keep his Next-Gen era streak alive.
