The 2025 NASCAR Cup season started with a solid run from Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron, who won the chaotic Daytona 500, marking back-to-back win at the Florida track. After another chaotic race at Atlanta, the HMS driver alongside the whole Cup garage is set for a normal race weekend with the first road course race of the season at COTA.
Recently 2014 Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick in the latest episode of his podcast has made his prediction about the race. The ex-SHR driver picked William Byron as the racer with a solid chance to win the race, owing to his notoriety of winning early in regular season and the impressive pace NO:24 team has shown in the road courses over the years.
I’m going to take William Byron. I think that he just notoriously has the early season mojo to get into victory lane. Has done well on the road courses. So, I’m going to go 24.
Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour podcast.
The podcasts’ co-host Kaitlyn Vincie also shared her prediction for the main event. She picked Trackhouse Racing’s Shane van Gisbergen to win the race as he sees this as one of the main shots he will have at winning races this season.
I’m picking SVG (Shane van Gisbergen), and I mentioned at the bold predictions that I thought he was going to win multiple Cup races. But I think he could be one of the guys this weekend.

Kevin Harvick co-host make bold winner prediction
Mamba Smith, another co-host of Kevin Harvick, made a bold prediction about the potential winer and it’s another Trackhosue racer. He is backing Connor Zilisch, to win the event as he already has elite race winning experience and believes the youngster is preparing for everything.

I think I talked myself into it. I’m going with the kid. Give me Connor Zilisch. Give me Connor Zilisch. No hold back, Connor Zilisch first Cup race. Because I was thinking about it while I was sitting there, he’s already won at a high level. He knows what he’s doing, so he’s as prepared as anyone.

The youngster can make history on Sunday, if he can win the race as he will become the second oldest racer ever to win a Cup race. It would be interesting to see if the predictions from the Happy Hour podcast crew will come true on Sunday.
