2014 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick retired from Cup and full-time racing at the end of last season after having a solid farewell year though he ended up winless.  The end of his journey on the track marked the start of another journey for the star racer as a broadcaster with Fox Sports who telecasts the first half-of NASCAR season.

Last week’s Sonoma Cup race marked the end of his 2024 term as the broadcaster and he now has more free time. This weekend Kevin Harvick took over race-dad duty and was at the track supporting his son Keelan Harvick freely for the first time this year. He talked to the media about how he feels about his broadcasting debut.

He asserted that unlike he thought the debut with Fox was much harder that he expected. Harvick revealed that every race week he has be part of multiple meeting which it bit tiring. But the fact that he can still get to experience the fun of racing at the track and continue to be involved makes it enjoyable for him.

It's a lot more work than I thought it would be. There's a number of meetings that you have to go through during the week, but it's still fun to be at the racetrack and be able to be involved in the sport and not have all the pressure of driving the car, so I enjoyed it.
Kevin Harvick told Frontstretch.

Well, there was really nowhere else to race, so that was the first available race that opened up that was available for our group to do, so that was just kind of where the schedule fell, and we were just going to go wherever that opened up first, and Five Flags happened to be that spot.
Kevin Harvick said.

The ex-SHR driver is currently enjoying the freedom with not much racing and media responsibilities. He will be looking forward to spending more time with his kids in their regular life as well as junior racing ventures.
