One of the biggest drivers move ahead of the start of the Next-Gen ear in 2022 was Brad Keselowski signing with now rebranded RFK Racing. The 2012 Cup champion with Team Penske Racing decided to end his ties with the legendary team, entering into a role of owner-driver at RFK, with the primary goal of getting the team back to its glory days.
Since joining the team, Brad Keselowski had made some revolutionary changes to the team making the organization better and a consistent contender for race wins. But as a racer, he hasn’t delivered enough, as highlighted by 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick, as he failed to keep performing on the elite standard he used run with Penske.
I think that Brad’s put RFK Racing in a good position with making the organization better. Being a driver’s a full-time job and doing both is a big undertaking, but I think Brad has done a great job on the team side. I think that at some point I think that the consistency of winning for Brad has to be there like it was at Penske from the driver side. But right now we haven’t seen that.
Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour podcast.
The ex-SHR driver further highlighted how Keselowski showed some signs of resurgence in the middle of last season. But his triumph coming because of the mistakes of his teammate Chris Buescher raises some eyebrows as the veteran is expected secure multiple race wins a year.
We saw flashes of that last year for a brief moment there in the middle of the year, and he did what he needed to do capitalizing on a mistake there from (Chris) Buescher and his circumstances, but it’s just not what we expect out of Brad. We expect Brad to win multiple races in a year.

Kevin Harvick tries to determine the strength of Brad Keselowski’s team
In the same podcast, Harvick shared his feelings what advantage the No:6 Ford team really has on the track. He pointed out that they are not particularly strong on any types of tracks as they are yet to find it. The veteran also asserted that the workload might be getting on the shoulders of Keselowski.

What is the strength of the 6 team, because it’s definitely not road racing? I don’t know that they’ve really found their way as to what their strength is. … It just seems like it’s something every week for the last half of last year and this year. It’ll be interesting to see if they can correct that, but it’s a big workload for Brad to do both.

The comments from Harvick shows, he has some doubts on if Keselowski can race on the level, he once used to at Penske with his RFK team. The age and extra responsibility seem to demand more than expected from the veteran. But there is still time for Keselowski to make a comeback.
