Since the exit of Kevin Harvick in 2023, Stewart Haas Racing has been a team in struggle om and off the field. They lost many of their top primary sponsors and their current drivers line-up lacks experience having just one race winner out of the four. Now according to the latest rumours even the future of the team is a question mark.

According to the latest reports SHR is looking to downsize their operations and selling their charters. Even the latest comments from SHR driver Chase Briscoe gave a lot of grounds to the rumors of the team selling charters. Kevin Harvick has finally addressed the rumors via his podcast and has given his verdict on the topic.

The 2014 Cup champion pointed out that he reckons SHR is selling few charters but he doesn’t know how many hey are willing send. He asserted that some of the SHR drivers are going to lose their seat and he based his arguments of Briscoe’s comment that he and his fellow drivers are auditioning for the seat every week.

So now you’ve got these four Stewart-Haas cars. Are they selling all the charters? Are they keeping two charters, are they keeping one? I don’t know. But it sure seems like they’re selling a few. Two, three. I don’t know how many. But there’s going to be guys without jobs. I think they know that they’re auditioning, and they’re all definitely thinking about it, because Chase Briscoe is publicly talking about it.

They are all racing to keep a job, get a job, and I think this whole silly season is going to be pretty wild. It’s already started, right? Michael McDowell, I think he made a great move. Pulling himself. I’ve got to make a decision, let’s just make it happen. Made it happen. Went to Spire.

The 2024 season will witness more similar driver moves and SHR’s decision on it’s future will be decisive. Other than Briscoe, no driver at SHR seems to have a solid seat and if he even doesn’t seem confident about the team’s future, the situation is becoming serious.
