With three Cup Series with to his name, there shouldn’t be a doubt about Hendrick Motorsports’ star driver Kyle Larson’s 2025 championship chances. But there are some prominent NASCAR personalities, including 2014 Champion Kevin Harvick, who doesn’t have confidence in the racer with just two more race left for the playoffs to start.
In the last 10 races of the season, Kyle Larson finished outside the top-15 five times, not good enough for a Hendrick Motorsports driver that has such a dominant car. He was able to shows sign of comeback at Dover and Indy with top-5 runs, only to drop back with finishes outside tyop-25 last two weeks.
In the recent episode of the Happy Hour podcast Kevin Harvick shared his thoughts on Larson’s performance comparing him to William Byron. The No:24 team was going though a same streak, but was able to redeem himself with a win at Iowa and has found his speed. The No:5 team has failed replicate the same.
Now, the No. 24 didn’t have the finishes that they want, but they had the speed. I haven’t seen the speed out of the No. 5 that I’ve seen out of the No. 24. I see that as easier to motivate your guys around.
Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour podcast.
Further talking about the point, the ex-SHR driver asserted that Hendrick Motorsports is a team that has all the resources and knows the best ways over how to get their drivers out of tough streaks. They have motivated management, good leaders and people capable of enforcing good business practice, Larson just have to make use of it.
But Hendrick Motorsports has a great way of navigating the downs to be able to keep their people engaged and motivated, just from good business practices more than anything, and management and good leadership.

In the same conversation Kevin Harvick made the point, he has already made. Kyle Larson’s struggle started after his Indy 500 disappointment and they are stuck in the slump. But considering the history of the champion racer, Harvick expects the veteran to get back to winning form soon and give a solid fight for the championship.
So, that’s the part — I think they’ll show back up at some point, but it hasn’t been great. … I think when you look back at it, it’s still — the issues started at Indy. I mean, you can definitely point back to where the slump started. They obviously haven’t got out of it yet.
Kevin Harvick asserted.
Kevin Harvick addresses Kyle Larson’s comments on Talladega Nights
Recently Kyle Larson made a bold comment on iconic NASCAR movie, Talladega Nights. He believes cult classic movie made NASCAR drivers a joke and didn’t help the sport. His teammate William Byrom has the same feelings. Kevin Harvick addressed the points on his podcast and didn’t agree with the HMS duo.

I thought it was hilarious. I liked it. I mean Talladega Nights 2, I know where we could re-enact the scene… It’s coming, it’s at the miserable point of building a house. Miserable. Yeah. Tired of paying for it and taking too long.
Kevin Harvick said.
The ex-SHR driver has a special connection to the movie, as he had purchased the Ricky Bobby mansion from the movie after his retirement. While Kyle Larson has some valid reason behind his comments, Talladega Nights is a comedy movie and it shouldn’t be taken seriously.
