The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season so far hasn’t been kind to the 2024 regular season champion Tyler Reddick. He hasn’t won a single race this year and hasn’t come close to winning a race, while his teammate Bubba Wallace won the Brickyard 400. Watching all this from the sideline, ex-champion Kevin Harvick feels the No:45 racer is in big trouble.
In the latest episode of his Happy Hour podcast, Kevin Harvick assessed the 23XI Racing drivers’ performance as he found himself in an almost must-win situation in R-12 after a disappointing run at New Hampshire. Watching how Tyler Reddick is behaving in the last few races, Harvick pointed out that the star driver is pissed and hates everything that’s happening with him at the TRD team.
Big trouble. That’s what I read between those lines. I think that we’ve talked about the 45 all year and how they haven’t had that speed. You can just tell by his demeanor and the way he’s answering those questions, the way he’s swaying back and forth, there’s just a lot of things that scream I’m pissed, I don’t like where we are, I don’t like anything that’s happening.
Kevin Harvick said on Happy Hour podcast.
So, what are the reason behind the struggles of the racer, who was one of the contenders to beat last season. Kevin Harvick believes the poor performance of the 23XI Camry’s and the noise around the charter lawsuit are some of the reasons. But at the end of the day, lack of pace is the major reason behind their struggles.
You can point to the lack of speed, you can point to a lot of rumors from around the race team as to what might happen if things go down the path with the lawsuit. So, I just think there’s a number of things in that interview and the things that he says — the speed is one of them, it’s everything.
Kevin Harvick added.
Further talking about the point, Harvick declared that regardless of how good of a racer he is, there is a limit to how much speed he can extract from the car and at New Hampshire he as well as his teammate Bubba Wallace hit new lows. He also pointed out that Reddick at the moment is a very unhappy driver owing to his lack of speed through out the year.
I don’t think you can get away from that. Those cars were awful this weekend. The 23 and the 45 were awful compared to what we expect out of them, and the 45 hasn’t had any speed all year. That is an unhappy driver. Very, very unhappy.
Kevin Harvick asserted.
Denny Hamlin declares Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace aren’t in a must-win situation
The boss of 23XI Racing, Denny Hamlin doesn’t have the same feelings as Kevin Harvick. In the recent episode of the Actions Detrimental podcast, pointed out that his driver is not in a must-win situation after poor New Hampshire run. He pointed out that too many stuffs can happen that could get them close to the cutline after Kansas.

Must-win is you’re below 30 points out going into the last race. With two races to go, there’s too much other stuff that can happen. You can go out and have yourself a 50-point day at Kansas, and next thing you know, I bet you’re going to be minus five, maybe flat.
Denny Hamlin said.
The comments from the Joe Gibbs Racing veteran driver seems rational, as 23XI Racing has prove themselves they are good enough make solid comebacks. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the 23XI star duo in the next two races of the 2025 playoffs Round of 12.
