Coming into the 2024 season, one of the major questions has been Brad Keselowski’s chances of breaking his winless streak of 105 races. The 2012 Cup Series champion last won a race in Talladega in 2021, his last season with Team Penske Racing. He joined RFK Racing as owner driver and since then hasn’t been able to score a better finish than P2.

What makes his streak bad is the fact that his teammate Chris Buescher has won four races in the same period, including a three wins last season. With the whole Ford garage performing below par so far this season, Brad Keselowski might miss out on win this season as well. 2014 NASCAR Cup champion Kevin Harvick has similar fears.

Recently while taking about the No:6 Ford drivers’ performance, Harvick pointed out that he expected the No:6 and No:17 cars to stand out in the recent short track Cup races. But they were average and at Martinsville produced a below par run. Following this performance Harvick fears the worst for his former rival.

Brad struggles this weekend, they did okay at Richmond and Bristol, but they didn’t really stick out. Like they just ground out a top 10 and put themselves in the position to be there late in the race, but I’m a little concerned. I really thought Brad would go out and win a race this year, and right now that doesn’t look to be the case in my opinion.

Kevin Harvick had huge expectations for RFK Racing at Short Tracks

Two of the four wins RFK has scored in the Next-Gen era came at the short tracks and last season they were consistent contenders in such tracks. So Harvick was hoping to see them deliver at the races at Bristol, Richmond and Martinsville, which unfortunately didn’t happen.

I think the RFK guys have just not run as well as I thought they would on all the short tracks. These places that went to that, I really thought that they would stand out like they did last year, hasn’t been the case.

The team still have 18 more races left in the regular season to come back from the performance slump. Considering they were became better as the season progressed last year, fans can hope for better days after the mid-season break. But the general straggle in the Ford garage doesn’t guarantee them that success.
