Since the Kansas race, there has been a war words going on between Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin and 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick. All started over the former’s comments admitting he gave up after getting trapped in the traffic due to multiple pit-stop mistakes and losing the race, despite having fast car.

Kevin Harvick, who has been supporting Denny Hamlin from the start of the season was upset with the veteran and called him out. Hamlin didn’t like the comments and in response tweeted an old quote from Harvick when he was in a similar situation. The ex-SHR driver has now responded to those comments, reminding the No:11 Toyota driver that he was just doing his job.

We were talking about your comments and being mentally focused. I love you, man, I love the way you drive the race car. I don’t like the things you said after the race, and that’s my job. I’m sorry.

Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour Podcast.

Harvick reiterated that he didn’t like the mental weakness comments coming from a driver he really likes to see. He asserted that his comments were about Hamlin and not his crew. The ex-RCR driver pointed out that the 23XI Racing co-owner was trying to divert the comment to a different direction with the post on x.

I don’t like the comments about the mental weakness. Had nothing to do with your pit crew. I appreciate the attempt to divert the comment in a different direction, but you said it. I didn’t.

Kevin Harvick claims Talladega race was a “complete shitshow”

The NASCAR Cup playoff race at Talladega was a chaotic one that saw multiple wrecks, including the big one that took out 28 cars. This was one of the biggest wrecks in the history of the sport. Kevin Harvick was furious about the race product, branding it as a shit-show because of the huge wrecks that happened in the race.

I have a lot of information, but I don’t think I need to go too far because it was a complete shitshow… Well shit, we’ve wrecked enough cars that if we don’t pull all 28 or 25 or how many cars are sitting in the infield, hell I don’t even know if we can have a race…

Kevin Harvick said.

The former champion is spot on with the Talladega race chaos of comment, as the race was really disappointing on many aspects. NASCAR has to be consistent with their rule enforcing to make sure there won’t such devastating incident.
