The NASCAR Cup Series garage is at Richmond Raceway this week for the Cook Out 400, and Joe Gibbs Racing drivers are among the favorites to win. Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin are on highflying form. But 2014 Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick expect another driver secure the bag at the 0.75 miles track.

In the latest episode of his podcast, Kevin Harvick made his prediction about the race in the coming weekend. He took a bold stand and declared that the No:19 Toyota driver Chase Briscoe is going to win the event. The Veteran backed his argument, siting the past performance if the team with Martin Truex Jr., as they have four victories at the track.

I’m gonna make a bold prediction right here… I’m gonna go with Chase Briscoe. I look back and this was always a great track for [Martin] Truex [Jr.], I know it seems like they’ve figured out how to blend things together, so just seems like it might be a good track for them with all the momentum they have and their past history there.

Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour podcast.

Unlike Truex Jr., Chase Briscoe doesn’t have a good history racing at Richmond Raceway. He has started eight races at the venue, with a P7 last year being his best finish. His best qualifying was in 2022, where he started the race P4, only to finish P11. Harvick’s prediction seems to going to be a miss, as Briscoe was only 19th fastest driver in Qualifying on Saturday.

The co-host of the show Kaytlin Vince picked Denny Hamlin, who had five wins to his name at the venue as her prediction. The second co-host Mamba Smith expects Alex Bowman to win his first race of the season, though he expects strong performance from the likes of RFK Racing’s Ryan Preece and Wood Brothers’ Josh Berry

I really wanted to go with Ryan Preece or Josh Berry because I think these are their types of racetracks, but Hendrick has been so good here. I’m going with Alex Bowman.

Kevin Harvick explains Chase Briscoe’s championship credentials

In the same podcast, Kevin Harvick explained how Chase Briscoe is silent front runner for the 2025 Cup championship. The team has raw speed and only has to consistently convert them to front-row finishes, as they have been struggling to do that earlier in the season.

They have raw speed, and they qualify well. Even when they were kind of fumbling around at the beginning of the year. They have not turned all those poles into wins. But now the poles aren’t turning into 15th, right? Or a bad day.

Kevin Harvick said.

With two more races left before the playoffs, Kevin Harvick believes that the team has found some momentum and is now consistently finishing inside the top-5s. If they can’t continue producing similar run, it gives them an advantage in the chase as winning races is pretty hard.

Now they’re turning into top fives. That’s really what you want. You want to have that consistency to be able to put yourself up in the front of the pack and capitalize on those days because it’s really hard to win.

Kevin Harvick added.

The comments from Harvick shows he expects a lot from the No:19 team in the upcoming days. His ex-teammate finally has a car capable of winning every race, unlike the SHR days and it’s up to him to take advantage of this factor to build his NASCAR legacy.
