Team Penske Racing’s Ryan Blaney came into the 2024 season determined to prove his 2023 championship win wasn’t a fluke. Despite some struggles, the No:12 Ford Mustang driver has been strong so far this season with two wins, and coming close to many more. Now he has three more races left to put himself in the championship final like he did last season.
Ryan Blaney did have tough in the playoffs, where she remains winless. In the last six races, he has secured 4 top 10 finishes, while the other two finishes were top 30. The poor finishes were results of wrecks. Despite the good finishes, the 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick doesn’t see the racer making it past R-8.
He pointed out that though Blaney is the driver with the best chance of making into the next round out of the two Fords. But he doesn’t have much hope as the best place they can hope for a win is Las Vegas, but with many drivers chasing championship-4 on top-form, it will be really hard for the team to win with ease.
Kevin Harvick gives his verdict on Joey Logano’s playoff chances
In the same episode of the podcast, Harvick also talked about Joey Logano, Blaney’s two times champion teammate. He doesn’t have much hopes for the No:22 team considering they haven’t had much success in the one and half miles. The impressive performance of the HMS and JGR cars is a big threat as well.
The Ford duo of Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney will be determined to prove their former rival wrong in the round. They will be hoping to continue Penske championship streak in the Next-Gen era, but unlike the last two season, they have more fierce battle two have with HMS and JGR.
