One of the most controversial discussions among the NASCAR community at the moment is the Hall of Fame and how the induction of lower division legends is hurting its legacy. It also started with a comment from Dale Jr. Download podcast co-host, while Dale Earnhardt Jr. was making a HOF case for his driver Justin Allgaier.

Talking about this on the latest episode of his Happy Hour podcast, 2014 Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick has shared his thoughts on debate. He admitted it is a tough conversation, considering the HOF eligibility needs to be defined better. Making a case for Ron Hornaday Jr. s much different to making a case for the JR Motorsports driver.

That’s a tough conversation because it definitely is the NASCAR Hall of Fame. You’ve got Ron Hornaday Jr., who’s a four-time Truck Series champion. It’s really got to be defined appropriately.

Kevin Harvick said on his podcast.

Further talking about the point, Kevin Harvick admitted that while Justin Allgaier’s O’Reilly Series legacy is clearly impressive, his failure to make it in the Cup Series despite getting multiple opportunities is a red mar. He seems to have not done enough in the second division to get into the Hall of Fame.

I think it’s going to be difficult for a Justin Allgaier of the world that is successful in the O’Reilly Series but wasn’t successful in the Cup Series. So, where do you draw that line of having the conversation of well, he didn’t make it in Cup, he did really good in Xfinity, so is that good enough to go into the Hall of Fame?

I’m going to go with Denny Hamlin. I mean, it is a great run for Denny Hamlin in this stretch of races.

Kevin Harvick said on his podcast.

The ex-SHR drivers’ co-hosts also made their predictions. Kaitlyn Vince is expecting Ryan Blaney to secure his second win of the 2026 season. While, Mamba Smith is going for another JGR driver, Ty Gibbs, as he also has momentum on his side.

KV: Mine is for Ryan Blaney. I think he will have a solid showing coming off the off week. He’s been fast every week. So, just that’s my interest.

MS: It’s Ty freaking Gibbs [Ty Gibbs].

Kaitlyn Vince and Mamba Smith said on the podcast.

The picks from the NASCAR insiders are rational and on point. But it’s surprising that none of them picked a Chevy drivers, despite the fact that Chase Elliott won last weekend, showing HMS might be on the right track. It would be interesting to see who is going to be the winner next weekend.
