The NASCAR community was expecting an impressive farewell season for Martin Truex Jr. despite him struggling in the last 10 races of the regular season and barely making it into the playoffs. But their hopes were shattered when he failed to deliver and ended up getting eliminated in the post-season Round of 16.

While talking about the same in his podcast 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick shared doubts about Martin Truex Jr.’s commitment towards racing. He pointed out that the veteran has been frustrating his crew chief James Small with having only one foot in the commitment line due to his doubts over if not to retire or not.

I think James is frustrated with that one foot in, one foot out commitment that Martin has that, do I retire, do I not retire. I’ll come back; it’s gone the exact same way the last two years.
Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour podcast.

The ex-SHR driver isn’t impressed by the claim and pointed out that tracing without fully committing will only do harm. He asserted that being fully invested in the preparation is important for the driver to be efficient on the track.

You cannot race this car with one foot in, one foot out commitment. Because there’s a workload that is required to go with this car on a week-to-week basis.

Kevin Harvick makes another bold claim playoff elimination

With the post-season R-12 ready to start, Kevin Harvick made a bold prediction about William Byron. He pointed out that the No:24 team is out of rhythm at the moment and in the past, they have struggled massively in such situations, and is in the path towards experiencing a similar fate.

Now they’re out of rhythm, and it doesn’t seem like they’re able to put themselves in a position to where they can find the speed… And you know, I just haven’t seen a lot out of the 24, and I actually, I actually have him on my list of being out after this round.
Kevin Harvick said.

It will be interesting to see if this bold claim from Kevin Harvick will turn out to be the truth. The veteran’s prediction about the R-16 elimination was almost right, so there that possibility of Byron’s season ending up being a disappointment.
