The 2024 regular season champion Tyler Reddick has been struggling massively in the post-season. If not for the extra bonus points, he got for topping the table in the regular season, he wouldn’t have made it out of the Round of 12. The disqualification of HMS’ Alex Bowman after his car was found underweight, also helped his case.
Tyler Reddick performing really well on Sunday at Roval, despite his car not having the best car and the crash he had with Denny Hamlin and Daniel Hemric, was the reason for his promotion. Ex-Cup champion Kevin Harvick, while talking about the No:45 teams’ performance, questioned the lack of urgency shown by the team and driver before Roval.
The ex-SHR driver pointed out that the team has to find a way to keep the level of urgency they found at Roval alive and used it to their advantage in the upcoming events. Harvick is waiting to see if and when can Reddick find that extra gear to perform on the championship level.
Kevin Harvick makes a bold prediction about Tyler Reddick boss Denny Hamlin
Another driver who produced a statement performance at Roval was Reddick’s 23XI Racing boss Denny Hamlin. He was able to make it into the next round with ease, virtue of his top 5 run. Kevin Harvick, who has previously picked Hamlin as the championship favorite, has good chance of making it into the final four with his good performance.
Hamlin and Reddick are in a good spot to get into the Cup season finale, due to their impressive performance. It will be interesting to see how the Toyota owner-driver duo will perform in the Round of 8, with three proper tracks on the schedule.
