The NASCAR Cup Series heads to North Wilkesboro Speedway this weekend for the highly anticipated 2025 All-Star Race. The iconic race also comes with a massive $1 million prize. Before the weekend commenced, NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick named Ryan Blaney as his pick to win the race.
The All-Star Race is different from regular races on the NASCAR calendar. It allows drivers to drive freely without thinking too much about the championship. Yet, it’s a serious affair as every driver wants to make their way to Victory Lane, presenting an exciting action-packed race for fans.
Kevin Harvick reckoned that the face provided an opportunity for drivers, who had a difficult start to the year, to get their form back. He cited Joey Logano as an example. Logano managed to turn things around after a slow start last season after he dominated the All-Star Race.
This further put him back on-track for the remainder of the year. Harvick decided to pick Ryan Blaney, claiming that Blaney was suffering from bad luck and the race might be the opportunity he needs to bounce back.
I think as you look at the All-Star Race, it’s a chance for people to get themselves back where they want to be and change the course of their season. We saw it with Joey Logano last week or last year when he went to the All-Star race, hadn’t done squat to start the year, went and dominated, changed the rest of his season, and put him back on track. So with all that being said, Mr. Bad Luck himself, Ryan Blaney, I’m picking.
Kevin Harvick said on Happy Hour podcast.
Blaney is no stranger to North Wilkesboro Speedway. In his past two starts at the track, he has managed to secure one P5 and one P6 finish each. As such, the 31-year-old might be able to push himself further this weekend to potentially take victory.
Ryan Blaney secures top 3 finish in Kansas
Ryan Blaney, races the No. 12 car for Team Penske in the Cup Series. The 31-year-old had a steady start to the 2025 campaign. Though, Blaney soon improved further and took his second consecutive third place finish of the season during the Kansas race. This was his fourth top 5 finish in the last five Cup Series races.

Blaney, who now sits in fifth place in the points table, was delighted after another positive result. He expressed pride in his team for continuing the hard work behind-the-scenes. Ryan Blaney hinted that he was soo going to catch-up with the leaders upfront.
Extremely proud of this 12 Team and the improvements we are making each week. We were catching the leaders at the end and that’s because of our speed from the shop and hard work at the track.

Certainly, Ryan Blaney is not having a bad run this season. The Team Penske driver might be able to make Harvick’s prediction come true and head to Victory Lane in North Wilkesboro. However, Blaney will be facing fierce competition from the rest of the field, with all drivers eyeing the big price of the All-Star Race. Though, fans can be assured that no matter who wins, they will be treated to a thrilling spectacle.
