Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell is the only driver in the Next-Gen car to make into the championship-4 every season. Despite him being a consistent performer, his season finale entry in the last two season was perceived as a surprise. This is mainly due to the less limelight he gets compared to his rivals.
2014 NASCAR Cup champion Kevin Harvick has explained the reason for Christopher Bell being among the drivers that is slept on the most. He pointed out the Toyota driver has a personality and demeanor many in that often puts him away from the limelight. Bell never going over the top in voicing his opinion that gets media attention.
I think Christopher Bell, from a performance standpoint, should be one of the favorites…I think his personality and his demeanor, almost take him out of those conversations, because you never — he never really says anything that’s controversial. He never goes over the top to, you know, to voice his opinion on something that he doesn’t like.

While further discussing on the point he pointed out that Bell demeanor and his approach of NASCAR is purely racing, nothing more. The No:20 Joe Gibbs Racing diver doesn’t want to create the chaos and excitement with words.
I’m not saying that there’s anything right or wrong with that. I’m just saying that, I think his demeanor and the way that he approaches things is purely for racing, and he just wants to drive the car and perform with what he’s supposed to do, and he doesn’t want to create the chaos and excitement.

Despite not being a big talker Infront of the media, with his on-track performance was often enough to get him the limelight he deserved. He did what knows the best, dominate races and win them, and all the attention he needed cane to him.
I think, the media side of things, they want they want something that’s a that’s a bigger story. But I do think that Christopher Bell has the capability to not say anything, and win enough races, to make you talk about him all the time.
