The 2025 NASCAR Cup series season so far hasn’t been kind to Kyle Busch and this Sunday’s race at Pocono Raceway was no different. It perfectly showed how much the bad luck is haunting the team even when they have good cars. The veteran shared his feelings about after the race that saw him overcoming multiple challenges to secure P20.
The veteran started the race strong, before a speeding penalty earlier in the race ruined his momentum. Kyle Busch slowly made progress in the second stage, only to get involved in an incident towards the end of the stage that caused significant damage to the No:8 Chevy. It was enough to end any momentum that was on his side.
Our Chevrolet team worked hard today at Pocono Raceway to overcome obstacles. A speeding penalty on pit road put us behind at the end of Stage 1, then we ended up with heavy damage to our Chevy after spinning towards the end of Stage 2.
Kyle Busch told via NBC Sports.
Further talking about the incident, Busch revealed that it was the losing the air in the traffic that caused the incident. But he went onto highlight how he was able to stay on the lead lap despite the incident, by taking advantage of the efficient repairs that was made bat the No:8 crew, giving them momentum as they pack for next weekends race at Atlanta.
We just lost the air racing in traffic. Crew chief Randall Burnett and the rest of the RCR team worked hard to keep us on the lead lap. Our Chevy was never the same after the spin, and handling was really bad in traffic. We’ll regroup and head to Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Kyle Busch added.
But the outing isn’t going to be easy for him, other than a minute confidence gained from the outing, isn’t enough to counter the poor form his team is in. They have just five top-10 finishes from 17 races so far this season, and his best finish being a P5 shows how much the mighty has fallen. The teams need a major moment soon to inspire a redemption.
Kyle Busch came into the race extra careful
Coming into the weekend, Kyle Busch wasn’t only worried about his race form, but worth his fellow midfield racers Carson Hocevar and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. The Chevy duo is having a massive beef due to recent run-ins, and the latter seems determined to wreck the former for payback.

Kyle Busch, who knows how wild these paybacks can be, was concerned about it and he revealed before the race that he will be more careful racing alongside him. He understands why Stenhouse Jr. wants revenge but at the same time be lives it kind of hypocritical considering the Hyak driver has acted the same in his formative years in the sport.
I guess just if you’re around them on the racetrack, then you just keep your eyes open for that time of payback. I can certainly sympathize with Stenhouse in the agony that he’s had over last few weeks. It kind of goes along with everybody. Frankly, we would have said the same thing about Stenhouse years ago, you know, so.
Kyle Busch said.
The race fortunately didn’t feature significant moments where the duo had to drive together and helped to avoid a major incident. But it won’t be long before the payback happens, and Kyle Busch like many drivers in the garage will be hoping that they won’t get caught in that potential mess.
