Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Martin Truex Jr. ended the uncertainty and rumors around his racing future this weekend at Iowa as he announced he will retire at the end of 2024 season. He is looking to venture into something different and get his life out of the past paced world of NASCAR. This opens a premier seat for taking at JGR in 2025.

While young drivers like Noah Gragson and Chase Briscoe are the front runners, JGR might also look into signing a veteran. Amidst these rumors started spreading about Kyle Busch, who left JGR to join RCR in 2022, possibly looking to make a comeback.  He raced 15 years for the Toyota giants has won two Cup titles win them.

Now the RCR No:8 Chevy driver has responded to the rumors and admitted that he is open to possibility return to JGR but not in 2025. He confirmed that he will race for Richard Childress Racing again next-season and asserted that he will working with team to make the legendary team great again.

I would say anything is possible, always. Certainly, if I was welcomed I would go back, if Hendrick welcomed me back I’d go back. But right now I’m at RCR with my group of guys and the deal I have right now in place. So, we’re trying to work and build this program and make RCR great again.

Kyle Busch is not allowed to talk to other teams this season

While further stressing on the Joe Gibbs Racing rumors, the future Hall of Famer confirmed that he hasn’t been approached by JGR yet for a potential move. He also acknowledges that there is contract clause in his RCR deal that bans him from talking to other teams this time of the year.

In the 2025 drivers market the No:19 JGR seat will be the premier one for anyone interested as it assures the one joining the best shot at wining a title. It would be interesting see who would Joe Gibbs hire to replace his veteran driver.
