NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Childress is one of the most respected team owners in the sport and has made invaluable contribution for racing. One of the defining characteristics of the veteran is his willingness to fight with anyone for his team and drivers. Recently he warned Ricky Stenhouse Jr. about a potential response from him if he wrecks Kyle Busch.
The RCR boss told he would give the No:47 Chevy driver a “a** beating” if he continues his retaliation for the lap two wreck during Nort Wilkesboro All-Star Race. The drama last week at NWB saw Stenhouse Jr. punching Busch on the face during post-race confrontation and latter getting heavily penalized by NASCAR.

Kyle Busch recently responded to his boss’ words of threat and recalled the time when he was at the receiving end of one such drama. He pointed out that bossman Richard Childress is very passionate about the sport, his team and his drivers. Hence it is his nature to protect the people what belongs to him.
I’ve been on that end of things before, you know. I know Richard, and his meanings and how he feels about his team and everybody that works for him, and he’s passionate about the sport in general. Obviously, we know that the ’79 Daytona 500 was built on that. But you know, it’s just the nature of what he’s all about, and that’s protecting what’s his, and what he believes is the right way to go.Kyle Busch said via Kenny Wallace Show.
NASCAR sends a strong warning with the Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s penalty including to Richard Childress
The Senior VP of NASCAR, Elton Sawyer via SiriusXM radio highlighted why they penalized Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and his entourage severely. He pointed out that NASCAR will always react harshly on the family and crew members who gets involved in fight between drivers.

I think it’s fair to say that when you have crew members and family members that put their hands on our drivers, we’re going to react. There’s not a lot of detail I’m going to get into due to the fact that these are appealable penalties, and I want to make sure that we’re fair to that process.Elton Sawyer said.
It means if Childress deliver on his promise in the future over a potential clash between Stenhouse Jr. and Busch, he will get the same level of venalities. It would be interesting to see how the penalty drama and the beef between the two playout in the future will.
