Two times NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch is going through one of the toughest patches of his career as his No:8 RCR Chevy has been underdelivering so far this season. To make the nightmares worse last week he was involved in a clash with JTGD Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr., which ended him getting punched on the face.
Everything started when Kyle Buch wrecked the No:47 Chevy on lap two of the All-Star race and made him DNF. Stenhouse Jr. who was stuck in the infield due to lack of tunnels at NWB delivered on his promise and confronted the veteran soon after the race was over, before punching him on the farce out of the blue.
While Stenhouse Jr. talked about the incident a lot, Busch kept his silence and now he has finally broken his silence. He talked about the clash via the Kenny Wallace Show and admitted that he felt the whole incident was an ambush. No one told the veteran about the frustrated driver and his crew waiting for him before his hauler.
And then afterwards obviously, trying to have some casual words. I had no idea his comments of hold my watch or you know, ... Nobody told me. So, I felt like I went into an ambush blind with him and his team and having an idea that they were all kind of set up in different areas. But tried to hold my own. So, you know, I guess we’ll see how that progresses going forward and what we do, you know, heading on into the next few weeks.Kyle Busch said via Kenny Wallace Show.
Kyle Busch reveals why he wrecked Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
While talking about the root cause of everything, Busch pointed out that he wrecked the No:47 Chevy because he hit the No:8 RCR car. Busch felt, Stenhouse shouldn’t have done that considering the Chevy made contact with wall just before.
So, it was inevitable that I was going to get put in the fence anyways. I wasn’t too pleased about that and did come back and retaliate. It showed my displeasure of that. As one guy once said, I meant to rattle his cage and spin them out didn’t mean for him to overcorrect and stuff in the fence but that’s sort of what happens sometimes.Kyle Busch said.
The beef between the two seems to over according to latest reports that suggest they have talked with each other. But t would be interesting to see how the hard racing between the two will playout in the coming races.
