The NASCAR Cup Series race at COTA, Austin saw Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell producing a masterclass performance to secure his second win of the season. He won the race after overcoming the challenge from his ex-teammate Kyle Busch, who was conformably leading eth race before the late caution change the race.

Kyle Busch used all the tricks under his sleeves to stop Christopher Bell from overtaking him, including some aggressive moves, just like the No:20 Toyota driver did last season in the same event. Hence the No:8 RCR Chevy driver took it to X to confess that he raced the TRD driver like a butthead and praised him for the impressive win.

Last year the #20 was the butthead. This year it was me. GG Christopher Bell.

Kyle Busch wrote on X.

On his post-race interview after finishing P5, Busch explained how the caution changed the whole race for him and highlighted how defending Bell ruined his tier. Then the contact he had with the No:20 caused significant damage to the car and ended up being the factor that changed the race for him.

But once we had that yellow, then it was just defensive mode. You’re in complete and utter just beat the heck out of the tires at that point, and I just didn’t have it over the No. 20. Hate it that the contact that we made between two and three ruined our racecar too. It bent the right-rear toe link and knocked everything out of it.

Christopher Bell is proud of his COTA race win

In his post-race interview, Christopher Bell shared his feelings about the race win and admitted that he is happy for his team for the victory. He also highlighted how the race has been circled by the No:20 team from the start and added that the Atalanta win from the previous week wasn’t a win they expected.

Just so happy for these guys right here. They’ve been on me hard about winning with them. Just super proud for everyone on this DeWalt No. 20 team. We didn’t count last week. Last week was a speedway. We didn’t have that one circled. We definitely had this one circled. I’m ready to keep adding to it.

The comments from Christopher Bell shows he came into COTA with a lot of confidence in the car and the team. The back-to-back wins gives them a lot of momentum going into next Sunday’s race at Phoenix Raceway.
