NASCAR is the premiere American racing championship. The stock car series has a massive fan following in the US with millions tuning in every race weekend. This had led to a commercial boom during the sport’s golden years till the 2000s. However, Kyle Busch has revealed that there has been a massive financial drop for drivers in recent years.

Kyle Busch is one of the few drivers from NASCAR’s previous era. Busch, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski and Michael McDowell are the only drivers in the Cup Series who are aged 40 or above. The RCR driver has witnessed the peak of NASCAR when drivers were able to earn millions throughout their careers.

Busch reckoned that today’s drivers will be forced to continue their careers till the mid-40s just from a financial perspective. He revealed that the income of drivers had virtually halved in the past few years, making it far more difficult for young racers to earn big sums.

So, I’m just making up a number, but if we’ve made $50 million over our career, (today’s younger drivers are) probably only going to be around the $20 to $25 million range over the course of their career. So they may have to go further.

Kyle Busch told Frontstretch.

Kyle Busch insisted that at the end of the day, a driver just needs to keep performing no matter the age. If a driver can realistically keep delivering good results for the team and stay at the top of their game, the RCR driver saw no reason for an early retirement. After all, 44-year-old Denny Hamlin is currently having one of the best seasons in his career with 4 Cup wins.

If you’re competitive and winning and you’re making the most of your team and everything else with what you’ve got, then keep going as long as you’re happy.

Kyle Busch to use his lessons to help son Brexton

Kyle Busch’s son Brexton Busch aspires to become a NASCAR champion. The 10-year-old hopes to follow the legacy of his father and uncle Kurt Busch. Brexton Busch has indeed shown promising pace so far, as he establishes himself as the next generation of racing.

Kyle Busch reckoned that he learnt some important life lessons throughout his career. The NASCAR icon faced some tumultuous times in his life, something that shaped him as a person. Now, the senior Busch asserted that it was time for him to give advice to his son to help the 10-year-old become a better all-round driver and a person. Brexton Busch would be able to reach maturity a lot quicker courtesy of his father’s experience.

I feel like with everything that I’ve learned and where I became a two-time champion, that I can certainly give some good advice to Brexton and helping his attributes become a little bit better and his speed be better, faster, and maturity level to be ready to go when he gets here.

Kyle Busch explained.

Certainly, the RCR driver has faced everything a driver can in their racing career. Kyle Busch understands all the intricacies in NASCAR. While there is still plenty of time before Brexton Busch can reach the stock car championship, his father’s advice will be crucial at this stage of his career. Fans would be hoping to see the junior Busch take his family name to greater heights in the future.
