The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season so far has been a year of hit and miss for Kyle Busch. The two times champion has been on a two-year winless streak and all his desperate attempts to end it this year, ended in disappointments owning to mistakes on as well as off the track. But he is now looking forward finally achieve the goal this week at Kansas Motor Speedway.
But its isn’t going to be easy for him, as the track where he has won twice in the past, offers some tough challenges. He highlighted these factors in a latest conversation ahead of the race weekend. Kyle Busch admitted that the wind, maximizing speed on all areas of the track and not overstepping when running the wall will be the predominant challenges.
Kansas is tough all around and a lot of it has to do with the wind. The wind can really play havoc on the car’s handling, depending on which direction it’s blowing. I would say that you are trying to maximize your speed at all areas of the track and sometimes when you’re running high against the wall you overstep those bounds and get in trouble.
Kyle Busch said via Speedway Digest.
Earlier talking abut the same, Kyle Busch asserted that he can produce a solid run this 1.5-mile track race weekend as he got good momentum from the string run at Texas. He believes he can continue performing on the same level this week as well as in the upcoming race at Charlotte. It interesting see Busch finding positivity from the P20 finish last Sunday.
Not really. I think they’re all vastly different in how you set up your race car. But we were strong at Texas Motor Speedway and hopefully we can continue that trend at Kansas Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Kyle Busch added.
Kyle Busch is seeking redemption in Kansas
During the same conversation, Kyle Busch recalled the races in the recent past he has had at the track with the Next-Gen car missing out on wins owing to his mistakes. Hence, he is looking for redemption and finally get a win at the track, which has been good for the No:8 RCR team in the last two years.

I really like Kansas Speedway. I feel like both Kansas races were really good for us last year. We were fast. I would love to go back there and get a little bit of redemption with not winning last fall after getting taken out late in the race while trying to race around a lapped car. We were fast in the fall of 2023 until I crashed in practice…

These comments show the two times champion feels really confident about his 35th career start at the track. He will be hoping to do better in both qualifying and at the end of the race, as his average start as well as finish are outside the top 10.
