The NASCAR All-Star Race is set to take place on Sunday at North Wilkesboro Speedway. The race will see the top drivers of the sport compete against one another for a massive $1 million prize. RCR veteran Kyle Busch will be looking to head to Victory Lane this time around. However, Busch might be prepared to cause chaos on-track.
The All-Star Race has a special rule that makes it different from regular rounds. Speedway Motorsports CEO Marcus Smith, the promotor of the race, has the provision to throw a caution anytime between Lap 100 and 220, unless a natural one comes out after 200.
Kyle Busch was asked about this ‘promotor’s caution’ rule. The 40-year-old joked whether he should be the one who forces a natural caution to be put in place instead of Marcus Smith’s mandated caution during the race.
Busch joked that this would depend on how Kyle Larson was performing in the race. The RCR veteran hinted that perhaps he would be ready to wreck a driver if Larson seems to be dominating the All-Star Race.
If a natural caution comes out after two hundred right, do we want to put money on If I create a natural caution or I let Marcus throw a caution? It depends on how far Kyle Larson’s out leading the race.
Kyle Busch told Bob Pockrass.
The all-star "promoter's caution" rule is that anytime between Lap 100-220, Speedway Motorsports CEO Marcus Smith can throw the caution unless he hasn't thrown it and a natural caution comes out after Lap 200. Kyle Busch’s Truck Series attempt not fruitful for All-Star Race
Before the All-Star Race, the RCR veteran competed in the Truck Series Window World 250 at North Wilkesboro on Saturday. Kyle Busch hoped to gain some knowledge about the track before competing in the mega-event on Sunday. He showed impressive pace in Qualifying and started the race from second place. Though, Busch could only manage ninth place in the race.

Following the race, Kyle Busch confessed that the running in the Truck Series was not as beneficial as he had hoped. The Truck Series vehicle had far different racing lines compared to the Cup Series car. Busch was able to run much higher on-track with the Truck, something that would not be possible when it came to the All-Star Race.
It’s funny because the truck line that I was running was super high; enter right up on the wall, get it to the wall in the middle of the corner, and then the cup car was, was, a lane, lower, you know, so just different between the two vehicles. So, what I learned in the truck race didn’t do a whole lot
Kyle Busch said post-race.

Certainly, Kyle Busch wants to make a mark on Sunday at the North Wilkesboro Speedway. The 40-year-old is determined to go to Victory Lane, but things will not be so easy. Busch’s run in the Truck Series will help him with some idea of the circuit despite the starkly different racing lines.
Nevertheless, the competition is fierce and the RCR veteran will need to push himself to the limit to win the grand prize. As such, it remains to be seen how things pan out for the NASCAR champion in the race.
