The 2024 season has been a huge disappointment for the two times Cup champion Kyle Busch. The dream of redemption for the massive drop in performance at the second half of the 2023 season is yet to be fulfilled as he hasn’t won a single race this season and desperately need one secure his place in the playoffs.

Things could have been much worse for Kyle Busch if not for the two weeks Olympics break. Ahead of the Richmond Cup race, he revealed that he sprained his left wrist at the Brickyard 400. He is at Richmond with his wrist wrapped. If there was no two weeks break for recovery, he would have missed multiple races due to the injury.

These great Next Gen race cars snap the wheel and snap your wrist… Without two weeks off I would not have been able to race, I’m pretty good now.
Kyle Busch told Fox Sports.

The veteran driver seems to be cured from the injury and believes he is in a good spot at the moment. There is no chance he is missing the race on Sunday as RCR came into the race with no back up driver for the No:8 Chevy. Busch would be hoping that any remaining pain won’t be hindering his performance in the Cookout 400.

It's been so dismal and so heartbreaking that I have a hard time dealing with enough stuff in my life that every Sunday to keep adding to it is getting harder and harder to deal with.
Kyle Busch said.

The veteran would be hoping to make a comeback starting this week at Richmond and it would be interesting to see how the 2024 season would playout out for him. The NASCAR community wants to see him race upfront for wins yet again, but it would depend up on how productive team RCR can be with the cars.
