Tony Stewart is all set to make his shocking return to NASCAR with Kaulig Racing in the Truck Series. The NHRA star will pilot the No.25 Ram Truck at the season opener at Daytona International Speedway. Though Stewart had achieved success in NASCAR and moved on to drag racing, Kyle Busch still delivers a brutal warning to the returning star in the 2026 season.

Kyle Busch is one of the most experienced drivers on the current NASCAR grid. The Rowdy had achieved success in the sport back in the day and has raced against Tony Stewart as well. However, the modern era of racing has proven to be difficult for the veterans, as Busch continues to suffer from a massive winless streak. Now, with Tony Stewart’s return to racing in the Truck Series, he is likely going to go through some difficulties as well.

Racing around the Daytona is certainly not for the faint of heart, especially in the modern era. Kyle Busch is a multiple-race winner at Daytona, with his total wins being over five races. Still, he has faced a stern challenge to succeed in recent years. Busch bluntly talked about Tony Stewart’s chances at Daytona in the season opener and how it might be much more difficult than anticipated for the NHRA star.

Kyle Busch joked that he might need to give a t-shirt to Tony Stewart that says how racing at Daytona is the most expensive day for the team owners. Further, Busch hoped that Stewart did not intend to finish the race, as it was definitely going to do him more harm than good. However, the 54-year-old is all here for it and hopes to achieve success in his very first race back with Kaulig Racing.

I need to get him one of my shirts I wore there a few years ago where this is the most expensive day of the year for the owners, I hope he doesn’t plan on finishing.

Tony Stewart reveals he ‘did not hesitate’ to return to NASCAR for one race

Tony Stewart has proved his racing mettle on the grid in NASCAR and doesn’t need to prove himself anymore. However, a success story in the Truck Series was still pending for the three-time champion. As such, when Stewart found out about the opportunity to return to the pinnacle of stock racing for just one race, he could not pass up on it.

Speaking on his return to the NASCAR Truck Series at Daytona, Tony Stewart revealed that he had raced just about everything with four wheels at Daytona, except a truck. Hence, his 2026 entry provided him a great shot to finally finish a picture-perfect participation at the iconic circuit. Stewart recalled that when a seat with Ram was offered to him, he did not hesitate or think twice about the opportunity and pounced on it.

I’ve raced just about everything with four wheels at Daytona, but never a truck. So, when a seat in the new Ram was offered up for their first race back in NASCAR, I didn’t hesitate, Ram’s Free Agent program is another great way for me to stay sharp and have a little fun.

The 2026 season of NASCAR will witness many changes, especially with the championship format in the Cup Series. The start to the year is bound to be exciting, with Tony Stewart also returning for one night of racing in Daytona. Stewart certainly hopes to make it to the victory lane in the very first return to racing in NASCAR. However, time will tell if the 54-year-old still has what it takes to succeed in the pinnacle of stock racing.
